Brodnax, Cox and Dees Named to All-West Region

NEW ORLEANS — Junior Chris Brodnax, freshman Evan Cox and junior Obasi Dees were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region honors list, Sunday night, honoring the top-five individuals and top-three relay teams in each event in each region.

Dees led the way with two honors, recording a top-five performance in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. His 10.75-second 100-meter dash at the second SCIAC Multi Dual not only earned him gold, but was a lifetime PR and the sixth best time in program history. He also recorded a career-best in the 200-meter dash this past weekend at the Redlands Final Qualifier, clocking in at 21.52 seconds and improving his third best time in Cal Lutheran history.

Brodnax recorded the best time in the West Region in the 400-meter dash. His 48.31-second performance at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships earned him the event title and is the seventh best time in program history.

Rounding out the trio, Cox shined in his debut season in the hurdles and recorded a 54.38-second 400-meter hurdle run at the SCIAC Multi Dual No. 3. The career personal record also wrote his name in the five-spot on the program's all-time list.
