Kingsmen Wrap Up Season at Redlands Final Qualifier

REDLANDS, Calif. — Seniors Anthony Flores and Josiah Le Doux-Hayes, juniors Obasi Dees and Chris Brodnax, and freshman Evan Cox represented the Cal Lutheran Kingsmen in their final meet of the 2019 season. 

Dees came fourth and recorded a lifetime PR in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 21.52 seconds to improve on his third best time in program history. His previous best was 21.62 seconds notched at this year's SCIAC Championships. Dees additionally took ninth in the 100-meter dash at 10.76 seconds, just .01 second shy of his personal record.

Joining him on the track, Brodnax nabbed the day's highest finish, coming second with a 48.72-second 400-meter dash, and Cox finished ninth in the 400-meter hurdles at 57.85 seconds. 

In the field events, Flores finished third in the discus at 42.51 meters, third in the shot put at 11.22 meters and fourth in the hammer at 42.51 meters.

And rounding out the crew, Le Doux-Hayes scored 4,725 in the decathlon. He picked up 2,724 points on day one, running a 12.21-second 100-meter dash, notching 5.86 meters in the long jump, tossing for 10.87 meters in the shot put, clearing 1.64 meters in the high jump and running a 56.93-second 400-meter dash. 

On day two, Le Doux-Hayes added another 2,001 points to his final score, clocking in at 20.20 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles, tossing for 29.35 meters in the discus throw, clearing 3.30 meters in the pole vault, flying 35.43 meters in the javelin throw and running the 1500-meter in 5:28.29 minutes.
