SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Cal Lutheran's trio of senior decathlon and heptathlon athletes are halfway through their events after day one at the Jim Klein Combined Events meet hosted by Westmont College.    

Kelsey Rouse leads the way in seventh after the first four events of the heptathlon with 2,659 points. In order of the day's events, she finished ninth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.53m), sixth in the high jump (1.58m), 15^th in the shotput (8.58m) and seventh in 200-meter dash (26.70 seconds). Her time in the 100-meter hurdles is just .01 seconds off her lifetime best set last year against Redlands. 

In the decathlon, Josiah Le Doux-Hayes and Jordan Wiley sit in 15^th and 16^th, respectively. After the first five events, Le Doux-Hayes holds 2,669 points. He finished 18^th in the 100-meter dash (12.10 seconds), 20^th in the long jump (5.44m), 18^th in the shotput (9.87m), 13^th in the high jump (1.70m) and 17^th in the 400-meter dash (56.31 seconds). 

With 2,334 points, Wiley took 20^th in the 100-meter dash (12.38 seconds), 19^th in the long jump (5.49m), 21^st in the shotput (9.02m), 18^th in the high jump (1.5m2) and 18^th I the 400-meter dash (59.04 seconds).
