Brodnax, Cox and Dees Lead Kingsmen to 10 Top-10 Finishes at Redlands Invitational

REDLANDS, Calif. — Junior Chris Brodnax, freshman Evan Cox and junior Obasi Dees each collected a pair of top-ten finishes in Friday's Redlands Invitationals, leading the way to the Cal Lutheran's total of 10 top-ten finishes on the afternoon. 

Brodnax ran a 49.68-second 400-meter dash, good for second and the team's best finish of the day. He also claimed seventh in the 200-meter dash at 22.24 seconds. Cox additionally notched two of his own, taking fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (56.11 seconds) and ninth in the 110-meter hurdles (17.01 seconds).

With the third set of two, Dees came in fifth in the 100-meter dash at 11.04 seconds and fourth in the 200-meter dash at 22.24 seconds. Rounding out the track group, Emilio Guajardo nabbed the second-highest finish on the day with third in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking in 16.16 seconds.

In the field events, freshman Brendon Carbullido led the way with fourth in the triple jump (12.80 meters), senior Josiah Le Doux-Hayes claimed fifth in the pole vault (2.6 meters) and senior Anthony Flores finished seventh in the hammer throw (41.49 meters).

The Kingsmen return to action on Thursday and Friday, March 21-22, at the Jim Klein Combined Events in Santa Barbara, California, hosted by Westmont College.
