LOS ANGELES — California Lutheran University men's tennis was without its No. 1 and 6 players and it showed as the Kingsmen took an 8-1 loss to Occidental on Friday afternoon.
The Kingsmen were under the weather and it was up to teammates to pick up the pieces. The loss put the Purple and Gold to 8-8 and 1-3 in conference play.
The lone bright spot of the match came at the No. 4 singles spot. Jacob Bear took care of his opponent winning 7-5, 6-2.
The Kingsmen look to answer with a win on Saturday. Cal Lutheran host Caltech on Saturday at 10 a.m.
