Kingsmen Take Down No. 28 Pacific; Lose In Double Header To No. 4 Johns Hopkins

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Kingsmen tennis hosted No. 4 Johns Hopkins and No. 28 Pacific for a double header this afternoon. The Purple and Gold came up with the 5-4 win against Pacific but were swept later in the day by Johns Hopkins.

All three doubles matches were close as the Kingsmen walked away with two in their favor. Darvel Lossangoye and Ryan Murphy started in the number one spot and outlasted the Pacific doubles team 8-7. Griffin Biernat and Ben Vincze were the other doubles to get an identical 8-7 win.

Lossangoye won his singles match in two sets; 7-5 and 6-1. Biernat tabbed a singles win himself with 6-4 and 6-1 sets. To get the tiebreaker in favor of the Purple and Gold was Dominik Stefanov with a 6-1 and 6-1 match.

Johns Hopkins took at three doubles matches from the Kingsmen. The Purple and Gold were only able to get to 5-8 on the blue jays.

Biernat almost took a set off Johns Hopkins singles player in the two spot but was just short 6-7. All of the Kingsmen's singles were beat in two.

The Purple and Gold are heading to Florida and play again on Wednesday at 8:30 am PST against Warner Southern.
