THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Kingsmen tennis hosted Hardin-Simmon in Poulson Tennis Center and came away with a nail-biting 5-4 victory.
Junior Jacob Bear had the game-winning match for the Kingsmen. Bear won 6-4, lost 6-1, and then came back to win it with another 6-4 score.
The Purple and Gold were down 2-1 after all doubles matches had been played. Griffin Biernat and Bear were the lone doubles winners for the Kingsmen with a final score of 8-6. The rest of the Purple and Gold's wins came from the singles matches.
Parker McBride came in at the number two spot with a 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 victory. Shawn Rothermel won 6-4 and 6-2 in the number five spot. Concluding the Kingsmen singles win was Ben Vincze with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 triumph in the sixth spot.
It's a quick turnaround for the Kingsmen as they are back on the court tomorrow at 2 pm hosting Amherst.
