THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — California Lutheran University men's tennis won its second straight match as the Kingsmen swept William Jessup 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

The highlight match of the day came at No. 1 singles with transfer Parker McBride winning a marathon. He lost the first, but bounced back to win the second and pushed the match to three set. He was 10-7 in the third set super tiebreaker to complete the comeback.

The Purple and Gold swept singles play as Shawn Rothermel won at the No. 2, Ben Vincze claimed No. 3, Nick Griffin won No. 4, Yousef Manna took No. 5 and Ryan Murphy completed the sweep at No. 6.

McBride was also victorious at No. 1 doubles as he teamed up with Jacob Bear to win 8-3. Vincze and Griffin combined for the eight point for the Kingsmen as they won No. 2 doubles 8-3. Cal Lutheran got the sweep as William Jessup defaulted at No. 3 doubles.

Some of the Kingsmen will head off to San Diego this weekend for the big Pacific Coast doubles championship at the La Jolla Beach and tennis club against opposition from schools like Stanford and UCLA.
