Gawrit Lands on 2018-19 First Team All-SCIAC Roster

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif.— Cal Lutheran's Yahn Gawrit was named to the All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) First Team, which was announced Thursday morning following a vote by the league's head coaches. 

Gawrit (Chicago, Ill.) has only been with CLU for two years and has earned First Team in both seasons. He finished the season ranked No. 15 individually in the West region as he led the Violet and Gold to a 13-7 record.

Gawrit competed in the No. 1 singles spot and won nine individual matches. In doubles, he competed with Isaiah Volk at the No. 1, and the duo won six matches throughout the season.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Nikolai Parodi was named Athlete of the Year, CMS' Nic Meister was named Newcomer of the Year, Occidental's Cameron Coe received the Character award, and Claremont-Mudd Scripps' head coach Paul Settles was given the award for Coaching Staff of the year.
