THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.— The Cal Lutheran Kingsmen extended their now five-game winning streak by defeating the Pacific Lutheran Lutes, Sunday afternoon, 9-0.
Starting the sweep for the Kingsmen, Jake Haffner and Ransom Braaten, No. two doubles, swept their opponents, 8-0. Yahn Gawrit and Isaiah Volk, No. one spot, added another victory, 8-1.
Rounding off doubles, Aaron Moylan and Ryan Murphy, No. three doubles, stayed collected, and won 8-3.
Moving on to singles play, Ransom Braaten, No. two singles, starts a winning streak for himself, by winning 6-1 and 6-0. Yahn Gawrit, No. one singles, added another win by defeating his opponent 6-0 and 6-1.
Aaron Moylan, No. five singles, increased his personal streak to seven, by winning 6-2 and 6-2.
Michael Sulahian, No. four, won 6-1 and 6-2; and Sebastian Ariza, No. six singles, won 6-1 and 6-2.
Jake Haffner, No. three singles, added another win for the Kingsmen, and another win for his personal streak, by winning 6-4 and 6-1.
After a victorious weekend for the Kingsmen, head coach Mike Gennette said, "The guys are looking forward to a week off to repair their bodies."
The Cal Lutheran Kingsmen return home Friday, April 5, at 3 PM PST, to face the Caltech Beavers for another conference match-up.
