Kingsmen Fall to Thoroughbreds

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — California Lutheran's Yahn Gawrit won at the No. 1 spot, but the Kingsmen fell to the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds 6-3 Monday afternoon at the Poulson Tennis Center.

CLU had the lead after the doubles matches. Gawrit went 2-0 on the day as he combined with Lucas Tilly in the No. 1 spot. They won with a final score of 8-3.

Dara Kashani and Andrew Tufenkian won at the No. 2 spot with a score of 8-5. The Kingsmen had a 2-1 lead heading to singles.

Skdmore won the first four singles matches and claimed the match. Gawrit then defeated Skidmore at the No. 1 spot. He won the first set 6-1, but dropped the second 2-6. He bounced back and won the third set 6-4.

Skidmore scored the final point as they won the match 6-3.

Cal Lutheran (0-5) continues the season at home and hosts Trinity (Texas) Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Poulson Tennis Center.
