Luke Rodarte was the outstanding performer of the day, setting a new CLU record in the 100-yard breaststroke with an incredible time of 55.33 to take first place in the event.

"A team record mid-season is really rare," said Head Coach Barry Schreifels. "[Andreas] Nybo was really fast today and is set up perfectly for the SCIAC Championship. Redlands is an excellent team and they always swim fast against CLU. The team is really tight now and we, the coaching staff, can't wait for the SCIAC Championships in three weeks."

The Kingsmen started off with a familiar event victory in the 200-yard medley relay as the quartet of Miles Gaitan, Andreas Nybo, Nick Kenny and Rodarte took first place.

Cal Lutheran went on to sweep the podium in the 1,650-yard freestyle when Stephen Blaauw, Ben Brewer and Cole Weiderman went 1-2-3 in the event, earning a combined 16 points for the squad.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Cal Lutheran took the top two sports as Gaitan raced into first place while Kye Daniels put in a great swim to come in second.

Another Kingsmen sweep of the podium took place in the 100-yard breaststroke as Brendan Fuggles and Nathan March finished in second and third place behind Rodarte who posted record-breaking time in his event victory.

Nybo touched the wall first in the 200-yard butterfly, and Liam McCallum showed out in his final dual meet competition as he took first place in the 50-yard freestyle.

Gaitan and Daniels finished in the top two spots yet again towards the end of the day, this time in the 200-yard backstroke.

In the 500-yard freestyle, Cal Lutheran swept the podium for a third and final time. Brewer was the one to grab first place on this occasion, with Blaauw and Weiderman just behind him.

Nybo capped off his day in the pool by winning the 100-yard butterfly as well as the 200-yard IM.

Cal Lutheran now looks to the SCIAC Championships held Feb. 20-23 in Commerce, Calif.
