Competed in fourteen events as a freshman for the Kingsman…notched four of his best times at Whittier/Redlands: 2:05.39 in the 200-fly, 3:27.11 in the 400-free relay, 59.11 in the 100-fly, and 16.53.72 in the 1650-free… Also notched three more best at the Malibu Invitational: 10:19.21 in the 1000-free, 1:02.35 in the 100-individual medley, and 2:22.20 in the 200-breast… Additionally achieved seven bests at four different meets… 1:54.20 in the 200-free and 5:03.81 in the 500-free at Cal Lutheran Sprint Meet, 2:08.12 in the 200-individual medley and 5:03.81 in the 500-free at Chapman, 1:38.69 in the 200-free relay and 7:21.89 in the 800-free relay at Banana Slug Invitational, 4:25.63 in the 400-individual medley at Occidental...Inducted into the Scholar-Athlete Society for the first time.

John Paul II HS ‘18: Earned the opportunity to swim on varsity all four years, along with Academic All-State Swimming from in 2017 and 2018, and MVP in 2018… Placed 3rd in 400 Free Relay at State Championships in 2016… Part of the National Honors Society, Science National Honors Society, Tri-M Honors Society, and was National Honors Society Communications Officer

Personal: From Richardson, Texas… Parents are: Doreen and Ken Hewes… Competed with the City of Richardson Swimming (COR) Club… Chose Cal Lutheran “because of the family atmosphere” … Says his greatest sports memory was “traveling to Florida with [his] club team for an elite senior meet”
