Kingsmen SCIAC Tournament Bound in Back-to-Back Years, First Time in Program History; Tie Oxy 0-0

LOS ANGELES — For the first time in program history, Cal Lutheran men's soccer has advanced to the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament in back-to-back years. 

The Kingsmen and  Occidental tied for the second time this season as the score was 0-0 on Saturday night. Cal Lutheran is now 5-4-7 overall and 4-2-4 in conference, claiming the No. 4 seed in the rournament. 

Davis Sharts was in goal as the Kingsmen recorded their fifth shutout of the season. Sharts made two saves and had the clean sheet. 

The Kingsmen recorded nine shots and the Tigers were right behind them with seven. Cal Lutheran put more shots on goal and had six compared to Occidental's two. 

Chris Pelaez (two), Igor Lumbrano (two), Preston Fleming and Tyler Sherard had the shots on goal. Daniel Fujiwara (two) and Giovanni Torres also took shots. 

Cal Lutheran will host Redlands in a No. 4 and 5 matchup on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
