CLAREMONT, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's soccer was up 2-1 against Pomona-Pitzer, but could not hold on as the Kingsmen fell to the Sagehens 3-2 on Wednesday afternoon.

Chris Pelaez and Giovanni Torres scored for the Kingsmen as they dropped to 4-2-3 in conference and 5-4-6 overall. The duo both scored their third goal of the season and Christian Gonzalez recorded his second assist.

Davis Sharts was in goal for Cal Lutheran and was peppered with shots, making six saves to keep his team in the game. The Kingsmen offense was held in check, for the most part, only getting two shots on goal, and converting each time.

The offense got going right away as Pomona-Pitzer scored in the fifth minute and Pelaez got Cal Lutheran on the board in the sixth.

In the second half, Cal Lutheran took its first lead in the 48th minute. Torres got the goal with the help of Gonzalez. The Kingsmen were shut down after that, and the Sagehens made their move, scoring in the 58th and 77th minute and stole the game.

The Kingsmen have one final game in the regular season. Cal Lutheran is at Occidental on Saturday at 7 p.m.
