THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Adrian Graciano and Tyler Sherard scored less than three minutes apart as Cal Lutheran men's soccer came back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat La Verne 2-1 on Saturday night.

The Kingsmen improved to 4-1-4 in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play and 5-2-6 overall. The Leopards drop to 2-6-1 in conference and 3-11-2 overall.

La Verne got the scoring started, taking the lead in the 30th minute. Cal Lutheran was quick to answer as Graciano scored, with the assist from Juan Valencia, in the 37th minute.

The Kingsmen had momentum and added a second goal a few minutes later. In the 40th minute, Sherard received a pass from Igor Lumbrano and converted on his opportunity, giving Cal Lutheran the lead. The Kingsmen took that 2-1 lead into the half.

Davis Sharts was in goal and got the win as he made six saves. The Kingsmen totaled 13 shots on goals compared to the Leopards seven, as the defense did the rest. Cal Lutheran shutout La Verne in the second half and took the game.
