Kingsmen Move to Fourth on Day Two; Solano T-6th at SCIAC #1

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — California Lutheran University men's golf opened conference play with SCIAC #1 and after 36 holes the Kingsmen are in fourth-place at 22-over-par.

The Kingsmen fired the third-lowest total off the day on Sunday, and moved up two spots, to finish with 598 strokes. The Kingsmen are nine strokes out of second-place. Cal Lutheran shot a 305 on Saturday and fired a 293 on Sunday. 

Jimmy Solano led the way and tied for sixth at 2-over-par. He shot a 75 on day one and followed it up to fire a 1-under-par 71 on the day two. He finished with 146 strokes.

Adam Cartozian shot a 76 on day one and improved with a 73 on day two. He finished at 5-over-par with 149 strokes. 

William Moser, Jot Singh, JP Guimaraes Jr. and Derek Hahn also competed for the Kingsmen. 

Moser tied for 22nd with 8-over-par (77-75-152), Singh was 9-over-par and tied for 25th (77-76-153), Guimaraes Jr. tied for 33rd at 11-over-par (81-74-155) and Hahn was 40th at 14-over-par (80-78-158). 

SCIAC #1 is the first leg of the SCIAC Championships. The championship format consists of two rounds at SCIAC #1, two rounds at SCIAC #2 and three rounds at SCIAC Championships. 

The Kingsmen are in Moorpark for their next tournament and host the CLU Kingsmen Invitational on March 14-15.
