Kingsmen Open Spring Season At San Marcos Fujikura Invitational

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Kingsmen opened their spring season at the San Marcos Fujikura Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. 14 different teams competed with 80 individuals overall. The invitational included three rounds over the two days.

The Purple and Gold finished 14th at 83-over-par. The Kingsmen shot 318 in the first round and improved by 11 strokes for a 307 score in the second, but recorded a 322 in the third to finish with a total of 947 strokes.

Tanner Stewart led the Purple and Gold with a three-round score of 19-over-par. He shot a 75 in round one, just three strokes over par. It was tough the rest of the way as he carded a 79 in the second and an 81 in the third and he tied for 58th. 

Right behind him was Adam Cartozian with 21-over-par. He shot an 81 in the first and third round and totaled a 75 in the second. He tied for 65th.

Jimmy Solano, Garet Needham and Derek Hahn also competed for the Kingsmen. Solano (82-79-77-238) tied for 68th at 22-over-par, Needham (82-74-83) was tied for 73rd at 23-over-par and Hahn (80-81-86) pl;aced 79th at 31-over-par.  

The Kingsmen host a tournament with La Verne on Saturday, Feb. 26, at Olivas Links GC in Ventura, CA. Tee time is 8 am.
