Kingsmen Remain Undefeated After 3 Games In Illinois

Illinois – The Kingsmen ended their three game Illinois trip with a 79-75 win in overtime.

Eight Kingsmen were able to put points up on the board against North Park. Transfer Mason Johnson was the leading scorer for the Purple and Gold with 26 points. He added three assists and four steals on top of that.

Right behind him was Jacob Alonzo with 19 points, six assists, and seven steals.

The Kingsmen had a slower start and were down 35-27 at the half. They gained momentum and turned it around in the second half, outscoring the Vikings 43-35, sending it into overtime.

The Purple and Gold were able to outscore North Park 9-5 in the first overtime period, allowing them to avoid the second overtime and officially secure the win.

Tommy Griffitts also put up double digits for the Kingsmen and added 10 points to the scoreboard. Brooks Mallory went 3-4 for field goals and added those 9 points as well. Desi Burrage contributed eight points and two assists.

Logan McCollough, Ryan Grande, and Brock Susko all added points of their own to contribute to the third straight Kingsmen win.

Alonzo secured six rebounds while Dallas Johnson, Susko, and Mason Johnson had four of their own.

The Kingsmen improve their undefeated record to 3-0. They return to California and play Caltech on Thursday away.
