Dees Earns D3football.com All-America

MINNEAPOLIS— Cal Lutheran's Obasi Dees was selected to the 2018 D3football.com All-America team. He is the first Kingsmen since 2012 to be named to the team.

This is the 20th annual D3football.com All-America team, one of two recognized by the NCAA for inclusion in their record book (along with the AFCA).

Dees, a cornerback from Antioch, Calif., earns his first All-America honor. He was named to the Honorable Mention defense. Dees previously earned First Team All-West Region and was named First Team All-SCIAC for the third consecutive year.

The junior has been a staple in the Kingsmen secondary. Dees has stood out as a top corner, not only in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), but also in the nation. This year has proved that as opposing offenses have gone to whichever side of the field Dees is not.

Dees is one of two student-athletes from the SCIAC to be named All-America. Chapman's Elias Deeb earned Second Team Specialists honors as a punter.

St. John's quarterback Jackson Erdmann was named the Offensive Player of the Year, Mount Union's cornerback Louis Berry was the Defensive Player of the Year and Johns Hopkin's Jim Margraff was named Coach of the Year.
