Slattery Earns SCIAC Pitcher of the Week Honors

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. –  Senior closer Christian Slattery of Cal Lutheran baseball earned Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Confernece (SCIAC) Pitcher of the Week honors for his dominant week on the mound, helping the Kingsmen to a perfect 3-0 week.

Slattery (Malibu, Calif.) picked up two saves last week, making it seven saves on the season for the national leader.

The right hander threw a scoreless inning while punching out two hitters in Cal Lutheran's 8-5 win over Redlands. He followed that with another stellar performance against the University of Dallas, fanning two more hitters to put up a scoreless frame and rack up another save.

Slattery has posted a 1.64 ERA in 11.0 innings pitched during his senior campaign. His K/9 of 12.27 leads the team as the closer has slammed the door in nearly every save opportunity this season.

The Kingsmen look to keep things going on Mar. 12 at 3 p.m. for a nonconference game against Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Occidental in Los Angeles, Calif.
