Wright Named to D3Baseball.com All-West Region Squad

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — With the 2019 season under wraps, the awards continue to pour in for sophomore Tanner Wright who was named to the D3Baseball.com All-West Region Third Team, Thursday afternoon. 

The infielder led the Kingsmen in seven categories offensively and set the tone as the leadoff hitter in his 39 games this spring. Though his season was cut short due to injury, Wright finished atop the lineup with a .381 average, 61 hits, 41 runs, 29 RBIs, 12 doubles, five triples, and 13 stolen bases. 

Wright recorded 18 multi-hit outings, eight with three or more hits, and included a seven-game multi-hit game stretch in the second half of March. He additionally boasted a .440 on-base percentage and .519 slugging percentage. 

The Las Vegas-native was also named to the All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team and was D3Baseball.com's Third Baseman of the Week for March 5 after going 3-for-4 in back-to-back games to lift Cal Lutheran 4-2 over 2018 national championship runners-up Texas Lutheran.
