Fong Named SCIAC Pitcher of the Week

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — After toppling the No. 5 Texas Lutheran Bulldogs, Friday afternoon, senior Justin Fong earned Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honors for the first time in his career.

Outside of a two-run blemish in the top of the third, Fong allowed just four hits in seven innings of work while walking one and striking out nine. The efficient lefty not only recorded five perfect innings, but struck the Bulldogs' three, four and five spot hitters to shut down the second.

The transfer out of Ohlone College has strung together two back-to-back seven-inning starts, allowing just four earned runs in 22.2 innings of work on the year while striking out 24. He currently sits at 2-0 in four appearances with a 1.59 ERA.
