Kecia began working at CLU in 1991 and has held a variety of positions including Head Women’s basketball coach (1991-1992), Head Women’s softball coach (1994-1998), Assistant Athletic Trainer (1991-1995), Head Athletic Trainer (1995-2021) and appointed the Director of Health Wellness and Performance in the Fall of 2021.  She has also taught a plethora of classes in the Exercise Science department, including ATEP (Athletic Training Education Program) core courses and was the Program Director for the ATEP from 2008-2010. 

Kecia graduated from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo with her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. She then attended Cal State University, Northridge for her master’s degree in Kinesiology. While at Cal Poly, she played softball and was a NSCA All American her junior year. During her junior and senior years she also worked as a student-athletic trainer for several of Cal Poly’s athletic teams. After college Kecia began her teaching career at Moorpark Community College teaching Physical Education courses and an assistant coach for both the volleyball and softball teams. 

Kecia lives in Thousand Oaks and has two married children, Ricky (Pepperdine, ’17, ’18) married to Emily (APU 17, GCU, 20) and Korah who is married to Conrad Collison. When not at CLU, Kecia spends her time either golfing, reading, playing disc golf or walking her dogs Lily and Callie.
