Collin Crowl joined the Cal Lutheran coaching staff in 2016. In just his first year on staff in 2017, Crowl saw the program to its first NCAA National Championship Title and sixth World Series appearance.

In that season, the team boasted a 40-11 record, SCIAC Regular Season title, SCIAC Newcomer of the Year and six all-conference honorees. 

A transfer from Ohlone College, the Iowa-native played two seasons for the Kingsmen before graduating in 2015 with a B.A. in exercise science and humanities with an emphasis in education. 

In his first season at Cal Lutheran in 2014, Crowl was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association West-Region Gold Glove team and All-SCIAC Second Team for his performance at first base. He also led the team offensively with 46 RBIs, hitting .333 with 55 hits including 15 doubles, one triple and two home runs.

The following season, he continued to impress as a first baseman and DH, earning him First Team ABCA All-West Region, First Team All-SCIAC and D3baseball.com Second Team All-West Region accolades. He opened the season with a 21-game hitting streak and finished with a team-best 65 hits. Overall, he hit .406 on the year with a .456 on base percentage.
