John Barry was named as assistant coach for the Cal Lutheran softball team in the fall of 2020. 

Barry has previously the Head Coach at Moorpark College and Assistant Coach at Cal State University Northridge. He has many years of experience as a baseball player, including playing shortstop for UCLA, and as an all-star shortstop at the professional baseball player in the San Francisco Giants organization.

Played for the San Francisco Giants from 1986-89. He was a fourth round pick in '86, played shortstop and every other infield position.

Barry received a degree from UCLA in 1985 in history. Got his Bachelor of Arts in 2019 from CSUN.
