Alec Iniguez was hired as an assistant coach for Kingsmen baseball in June of 2019. He will primarily serve as the outfield and first base coach. Iniguez also plays a role in assisting with recruiting and hitting for the program.    Before joining Cal Lutheran, Iniguez began his coaching career at Grace Brethren High School (Simi Valley, Ca) for one season (2018-2019) helping the Lancers reach the playoffs while also contributing to a Junior Varsity League Title.   
 
Before his coaching career began, Iniguez was a 2018 graduate from California Lutheran University with a degree in Communications while competing for two seasons on the baseball team helping the Kingsmen win their first National Championship in program history (2017).  In his senior season (2018), Iniguez finished second on the team in hits (40) while also compiling a .387 on-base percentage.    While at Cal Lutheran, Iniguez has coached the Kingsmen Outfield to a .966 fielding percentage in 2020 and .976 in 2021.  His outfield has included players like Austin Carrillo (2022) who was selected 2021 First Team All-SCIAC, 2019 First Team All-SCIAC selection Ryan Probst (2020), and 2019 First Team All-SCIAC selection Daniel Parr (2020).      In the Summer of 2022, Iniguez accepted his first head coaching job as the manager of the Canyon County Spuds Collegiate Summer Baseball team (Caldwell, Idaho) in the Independence League.  He led the Spuds to their first winning record, 28-26 (second place divisional finish), in franchise history.  In his first campaign with the Spuds he managed/coached stellar performances by Tyler Stone (Gonzaga University) who finished as the League Leader in Home-Runs(11) and Runs Batted In (64) and also managing Clay Rickerman (California Lutheran) who finished the summer as the Earned Run Average Champion (2.72).  Other individual(s) accomplishments included 5 of the top 15 finishers for batting average and three pitchers finish in the top five in Earned Run Average while also having a Team Earned Run Average of 3.95 which was the best in the Independence League.    A native of San Jose, California, Iniguez graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory in 2014 where he lettered in baseball for two seasons then moving on and starting his collegiate career at Ohlone College (2015-2016) where he would be apart of Coast-South Conference Championship team in 2015 while winning their Regional and securing a Super Regional Appearance.    Iniguez resides in Thousand Oaks, Ca and currently serves as a Physical Education teacher for the Conejo Valley Unified School District and currently is working for his Masters Degree in Education at California Lutheran University.
