Regals Race to Seventh Place Finish at SCIAC Championships

CLAREMONT, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's cross country raced to a seventh place finish at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships which was hosted by Pomona-Pitzer. 

The Regals scored 208 points and recorded a team time of 2:10:47.8. 

Maraitzel Moreno Gutierrez ran a personal course best, and the eighth fastest program time for the course, as she placed 31st with 23:49.6. In her first SCIAC Championship race, she led the team. 

Samira Negrete was the next Regals to finish and was 52nd. She clocked a time of 24:49.8. 

Cora Hautekeete had a lifetime best and the 23rd fastest time in program history for the course. She placed 60th with 25:13.1.

Brooke Hougo and Dinkenesh Coltvet rounded out the scoring five and both ran a personal course best by over a minute. Hougo was 72nd with 25:56.9 and Coltvet was 104th with 30:58.6

The Regals continue their season at the NCAA West Regional in Spokane Wash., on Nov. 12 at 9 a.m.
