2017 (Water Polo)
Appeared in 24 games, making 21 starts for the Regals as a senior…fourth on team for steals (20)…had two multi-game goal games this season…added 14 drawn ejections, 14 goals on 36 attempts for a .389 shooting percentage and eight assists.

2016 (Water Polo)

After a year hiatus from water polo, returned to the pool in 2016 to play in 26 games for the Regals…shot .516 with 16 goals on 31 attempts…added 16 drawn ejections, 13 steals, five assists and a field block…finished with five multi-drawn ejection games and four multi-goal games…scored a season-high three goals, on four attempts, against Redlands (April 23) at the SCIAC Championships…drew three ejections in a game twice, against both Concordia-Irvine (March 4) at the 2016 Convergence Tournament and against Pomona-Pitzer (April 16)…recorded season-high three steals against St. Francis (March 3).

2014 (Water Polo)

Appeared in 31 games as a true freshman, earning 22 starts and emerging as one of the top new players in the conference… made her CLU debut in her first start against Azusa Pacific (Feb. 14) and contributed right away with four steals, a drawn ejection and a field block…finished season with 25 goals, 23 steals, 16 drawn ejections, 13 assists and nine field blocks, which were second most on the team…recorded seven multi-goal games…scored a career-high four goals against George Washington (March 12)…also had a hat-trick against Sonoma State (March 2)…earned two or more steals in five different games…had a career-high four steals twice against both APU and Princeton (March 16)…drew two of more ejections three times…had a career-best three drawn ejection against Long Beach State (March 1)…handed out two assists twice.

 

Cathedral Catholic High School
Graduated in 2013…swam and played water polo and volleyball for the Dons, earning four varsity letters…earned First Team All-League and Coach’s Award as a freshman co-captain in 2010… Academic All-American in 2011 after serving as a JV co-captain and earning team Offensive MVP accolades…led the Dons to a water polo league title in 2010…credits her greatest personal sports moment as scoring the winning goal in overtime to beat Mater Dei.

Full name: Kerstin Cody Brendel…born on March 31, 1995 in Montgomery, Ala….parents are Denise and Lance…has a dog Amber…family currently resides in San Diego, Calif…has done volunteer work at the UCSD Hillcrest Hospital, San Diego Pools, feeding the homeless at Veteran’s Day ceremonies, as a junior instructor at Cotillions, as a coach for Del Mar Water Polo Club and a team manager for the Canyon Crest Academy boy’s water polo team…chose CLU because she liked the campus and the people when she visited…majoring in exercise science...aspiring to become a physical therapist...most vast memory of CLU is starting as a freshman.
