Regals Volleyball Garners Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky.  Cal Lutheran women's volleyball earned the 2021-22 United States Marine Corps (USMC)/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. 

It is the 30th anniversary for the team academic award and also the 12th consecutive year that the Purple and Gold were named. The Regals had a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50.

"I am so proud of the team's effort and dedication to their studies and their sport," said women's volleyball head coach Kellee Roesel. "They truly are an amazing group and I can hardly wait to get started with them next month."

The 2021-22 Team Academic Award named more than 1,200 collegiate and high school teams. The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long (GPA) of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.

The Regals were one of five Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) school's to earn the award.
