Landrum Named SCIAC Athlete of the Week

ALISO VIEJO, Calif.– This Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Athlete of the Week honorees and Cal Lutheran's Samantha Landrum garnered the Women's Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week.

This is the first SCIAC Athlete of the Week award for Landrum and she is the second women's volleyball player to earn Athlete of the Week this year. She helped the Regals to a 3-0 week that featured a 3-1 win over Pomona-Pitzer and sweeps of Occidental and Redlands.

Landrum (Fair Oaks, CA) hit .456 for the week, totaling 37 kills with a 3.70 kills per set average. She put up career highs for kills (16) and hitting percentage (.556) in the win against Pomona-Pitzer. On the week, the sophomore opposite also added six digs and delivered 12 total blocks, averaging 1.20 blocks per set as the Regals clinched the third seed in the upcoming SCIAC Postseason Tournament. 

The Regals now advance to the SCIAC Tournament and travel to Orange, Calif., to take on No. 2 Chapman Thursday at 7 p.m.
