LEXINGTON, Ky. — Announced last week by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), the Cal Lutheran women's volleyball program enters the 2017 season ranked No. 6 in the preseason Top-25 poll.

Despite a revamped roster with nine new faces after the graduation of five, the 2017 Regals enter the season just one spot lower than they concluded the 2016 campaign. Joining CLU among the Top-25 are Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) foes Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and La Verne who sit at No. 7 and 25, respectively.

A nearly unanimous vote for the top spot went to Calvin (Mich.) with 62 of the 63 votes. Emory (Ga.) garnered the final first place nod as the Eagles sit at No. 2. Rounding out the Top-5 entering the fall are Washington-St. Louis, Northwestern (Minn.) and Southwestern (Texas) as three through five.

Cal Lutheran will be back on the court on Sept. 1 at the Trinity National Tournament in San Antonio, Texas.
