Five Regals Make Their Mark in All-Time Record Book

CLAREMONT, Calif. — Five Cal Lutheran Regals made their marks in the program's all-time record book, Saturday, with their performance at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational featuring competition from all collegiate and post-collegiate levels.

Leading the way, junior Kendall Guidetti took the team's highest finish with eighth in the long jump at 5.56 meters. She also took 16th in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 12.27 seconds, the fifth best time in program history and moving herself up from seventh in the list.

Also moving up in the books, senior Kelsey Rouse posted three top-25 performances of her own. She took 21st in the 100-meter hurdles at 15.52 seconds and 22nd in the javelin at 30.25 meters. Most impressively, the multi-event athlete recorded a new personal record in the long jump at 5.54 meters, good for a ninth-place finish and improves her sixth place mark in the program record books.

With another career-best, senior Alexa Barnes threw for 40.23 meters in the discus. She finished in 17th, but moves to fourth all time in the all-time records. She also added a 15th place finish in the hammer, reaching 45.07 meters.

Rounding out the day's highlights, freshman Brittany Toney claimed 21st in the triple jump at 9.55 meters, and juniors Kayla Cross and Megan Pollock tied for fifth in the program records book with a 3.10-meter clearance in the pole vault. The 3.10-meter mark ties Pollock's career-high and is a new personal record for Cross who moves up from sixth on the all-time list.

The Regals return to SCIAC competition on Saturday, April 13, for the third SCIAC Multi-Dual of the season. Hosted by Occidental, events begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Bill Henry Track.
