THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.— The No. 14 regionally ranked Cal Lutheran Regals celebrated Senior Day, along with a victory, against the No. nine regionally ranked, Chapman Panthers yesterday, by winning 7-2.
Beginning the afternoon with doubles, Brennan Foreman and Carolina Groff Hinojosa, No. three doubles, won 8-3; and Nicole Alvarez and Lilijana Peters-Semak, No. one spot, added another victory by winning 8-3.
Christie Kurdys and JoAnn Taylor, No. two doubles, fell to their opponents 8-6.
Moving on to singles play, Alvarez, No. three singles, swept her opponent 6-0 and 6-0. Semak, No. one singles, fell to her opponent 6-2 and 6-1. Hinojosa, No. five singles, added another win for the Regals 6-1 and 6-1.
Kurdys, No. two singles, clinched the match by winning 6-0 and 6-1, on her final home game for the Regals.
Foreman, No. four singles, won the first set 7-6 (3), but fell the second 7-6 (1). Foreman took the third set 12-10.
Taylor, No. six singles, added another win for the Regals, 6-1 and 6-3.
The Cal Lutheran Regals travel to meet the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Saturday, April 20, at 10 AM PST, for their final matchup if the season.
