HAYWARD, Calif.— The Cal Lutheran Regals took on Chabot College, in Hayward, Calif., Saturday morning. Looking on to increase their win streak, the Regals defeated the Gladiators, 7-2.
Senior Sarah Seeman and Carolina Groff Hinojosa, No. three doubles, started off the day heating up with a win, 8-0. Freshman Lilijana Peters-Semak and senior Christie Kurdys, No. two doubles, added a win, 8-2.
Junior JoAnn Taylor and freshman Nicole Alvarez, No. one doubles, fell to their opponents, 8-4.
Advancing onto singles play, Seeman, No. two, continues her now five-game personal streak, 6-0 and 6-2. Kurdys, No. three singles, continuing her streak as well, won 6-0 and 6-2.
After the game, Kurdys talked about the win, "We have been effective at focusing on playing our game and controlling the controllable. I can tell we are all individually becoming more confident on the court. I'm really proud of how well we have been doing so far."
Taylor, No. six, swept her opponent, 6-0 and 6-0. Alvarez, No. four singles, added a win, 6-0 and 6-2. Semak-Peters, No. one singles, fell to her opponent 6-2 and 6-2.
Freshman Brennan Foreman, No. five singles, added another win for the Regals, 6-0 and 6-1.
After being asked about the day, Foreman said, "We came out really strong today! After winning against Santa Cruz yesterday we were excited to come out and dominate again. I love competing with these girls and can't wait for more matches."
The Cal Lutheran Regals return home Wednesday, March 20, to play the Salisbury State Seagulls at 4 PM PST.
