Regals Wash Out Polar Bears

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.— The Cal Lutheran Regals challenged the Ohio Northern University Polar Bears, Tuesday afternoon. After being rained out for an hour and half, the Regals closed out the day, winning 5-1. 

To begin the cloudy day, junior JoAnn Taylor and freshman Nicole Alvarez, took the first win 8-2, on court two. Not far behind, senior Sarah Seeman and freshman Carolina Groff Hinojosa took another 8-2 victory on court three.

To round off doubles play, freshman Lilijana Peters-Semak and senior Christie Kurdys fell on court one, 7-8 (5). 

Before the rain delay, Semak was on court one, with a lead of 6-6 (6-3); Seeman was on court three, with a lead of 6-1 and 2-1; and Taylor was on court six, with a lead of 7-5. These matches did not finish. 

To solidify the victory for the Regals, Kurdys swept a win 6-0 and 6-0 on court two, followed by Alvarez on court four taking a victory 6-0 and 6-1. 

The final victory for the day was Brennan Foreman on court five, with scores of 6-2 and 6-1. 

The Cal Lutheran Regals continue their home stay, facing Hardin-Simmons on Tuesday, March 12,  at 4 pm PST.
