Regals Swept by Bulldogs

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran Regals matched up against the Redlands Bulldogs Saturday afternoon, but were swept 9-0 at the Poulson Tennis Center. 

Nicole Neumann and Jade Moore fought the tightest match of the doubles, falling just 9-7 behind their opponents on court three. Christie Kurdys and Gianna Cupo followed closely behind in court one, but also fell to the Bulldogs 8-5. For the doubles victory, the Bulldogs defeated Sarah Seeman and Annette Souza on court two 8-3. 

In singles, Sarah Seeman came the closest to taking a point against her opponent. Falling behind 6-1 in the first set before battling back to push set two into a tie breaker, but came up just short 7-6 (4). Annette Sousa on court four (6-3, 6-4), Cupo (6-4, 6-3) on court three and Neumann (6-4, 6-3) on court five all came second-closest to taking a point against their opponents. 

The Regals look to bounce back against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at home tomorrow, April 14, at 10 a.m. PST.
