Regals Completely Shutout Cyclones

OAKLAND, Calif. — For the first time in 25 years, the Cal Lutheran women's tennis team completely blanked their opponent, defeating Mills College 9-0 Sunday afternoon in Oakland.

The Regals dominated the Cyclones defeating them 8-0 in every doubles matchup. Christie Kurdys paired up with Gianna Cupo for the No. 1 spot while Annette Sousa teamed up with Nicole Neumann for the No. 2 spot. Wrapping up teams was No. 3 spot Sarah Seeman and Merissa Souza.

The Violet and Gold carried the momentum over to singles competition, defeating their opponents 6-0 in straight sets. Kurdys, Seeman, Sousa, Neumann, Jade Moore and Souza all played flawlessly, finishing off their opponents in shutouts.

Cal Lutheran (2-3) returns to the courts with a non-conference match against Southwestern (Texas) Thursday, Mar. 8 at 5:00 p.m. at Poulson Tennis Center.
