Solid Swims Land Regals in Third Place

PASADENA, Calif.– The California Lutheran University women's swimming and diving delivered some great swims this weekend in Pasadena, Calif., but fell to Occidental and Redlands in their fourth meet of the season.

Occidental earned 937 points to finish in first place, narrowly edging out Redlands with 907 points. The Regals would tally 477 points on the weekend to finish third ahead of fourth place Caltech with 390 points.

DAY 1RESULTS

Highlighting the first day of competition was Emily Glass, grabbing a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, the first podium finish of the meet. Brieyana Walton was right behind her teammate, finishing fourth in the event.

Emily Anderson also had a decent day in the pool as she earned a fourth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle to earn 15 points for her team.

DAY 2RESULTS

McKenzie Kelly earned 14 points for her team on day two of the meet as the junior posted a time of 1:03.08 to finish fifth in the 100-yard butterfly. Later in the meet, Kelly reached the podium with a third-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:15.56.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the quartet of Kyrie Fairbairn, Walton, Kelly and Anderson finished fifth to earn a whopping 28 points for the squad.

Another solid relay performance from Avery Conrad, Glass, Fairbairn and Walton landed the team a fifth-place spot for an additional 28 points, this time in the 200-yard medley relay.

Conrad got back in the pool for the 400-yard IM and impressively finished fourth in the event with a time of 4:52.80 to earn 15 points.

Glass continued her success on day two with a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 2:29.68.

Cal Lutheran's next competition will be Jan. 3-4 when they host the Chris Knorr Invitational at the Samuelson Aquatic Center.
