COMMERCE, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran Regals wrapped four intense days at the Brenda Villa Aquatics Center, Sunday night, to close out the 2019 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships. As a team, the Regals came in seventh overall with 267 points.

Leading the way in the last finals session, senior Grace Sanchez, junior Emily Sharpe, junior Brianna Baldwin and junior Jamie Shultz made the A-cut in seventh in the 400-free relay, clocking in at 3:42.46. Alongside them, freshman Brieyana Walton, junior Jessica Van der Laan, sophomore McKenzie Kelly and senior Anna Lundsten finished in 15th at 3:50.69.

"The women's team absolutely overachieved all year," said head coach Barry Schreifels, "Everybody had to contribute on all the relays and it was an apparent team effort here at SCIAC Championships."

Individually, Sanchez nabbed tenth in the 100-free (52.31), Kelly claimed 13th in the 200-butterfly (2:15.16) and junior Emily Glass took 14th in the 200-breast (2:28.38).

Though the regular season may be over, those who qualify for the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships will compete in Greensboro, North Carolina, on March 20-23.
