Shannon Pennington is a former player for Cal Lutheran and has been an assistant with the women's soccer prog­ram since 1999. She is the longest tenured coach on the Cal Lutheran soccer staff, entering her 21st year as an assistant coach.
 
She has served as an assistant under head coaches Dan Kuntz, Nancie Moskowitz and Frank Marino. The team had a program first in the 2017 NCAA postseason, making their first Sweet Sixteen appearance. The Cal Lutheran staff earned SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year accolades. 
 
She graduated from CLU in 1997 with a ba­chelor’s degree in Physical Education and later received a master’s degree in Ed­ucation in 2003.
 
On top of coaching at her alma mater, Pe­nnington spent six years coaching the ju­nior varsity team at her high school Cha­minade.
 
In her off time Penn­ington is an Elementary School teacher.  She enjoys playing soccer, hanging out with fa­mily and friends, and spending ti­me with her dog.
