Regals, Poets Play to Scoreless Draw

WHITTIER, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's soccer recorded its third shutout of the year as the Regals and the Whittier Poets played to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night. 

It is the third shutout in the last four games as the Regals moved to 4-3 and 1-0-1 in conference. 

Logan Duford was in goal for the Regals and made seven saves, playing the full 90 minutes.  It is the third shutout she has been a part of this season. 

The Regals had their chances in the first half as Isabella Veljacic, Danielle Vis, and Jalynne Magana each had a shot on goal. 

The offense picked up in the second half, but the Regals were still held scoreless. Ally Fisicaro recorded three shots on goal, Savana Durr had one and Veljacic added one more. 

The Cal Lutheran defense held its own against the Poets. The Regals kept their guard up as the teams settled for a tie.

The Regals return home after being away the past three games. Cal Lutheran plays a doubleheader with Redlands and the women's team kicks it off at 5 p.m.
