Cal Poly, UC Santa Barbara Join Regals College Soccer Clinic Staff

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Joining Cal Lutheran Women's Soccer Head Coach Frank Marino, Cal Poly's Scott Williams and UC Santa Barbara's Mario Felix are set to attend the program's College Soccer Clinic on July 17, 2019. 

The one-day clinic is $130 per athlete (team discounts available) and open to all female athletes with the desire to play collegiate soccer. Limited spots are available and interested participants are encouraged to sign up promptly on clusports.com/camps or by contacting Frank Marino at fmarino@callutheran.edu

The schedule includes strength, speed and agility training, two training sessions with the coaching staff, a campus tour, and classroom sessions on college admission, financial aid and playing at the collegiate level.

Cal Lutheran's head coach Frank Marino was named the 2017 SCIAC Coach of the Year after leading the Regals to the regular season conference title and a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament, for the program's Sweet Sixteen berth. In his 10 years of coaching, Marino holds five SCIAC regular season titles and one conference tournament title in route to 146-48-22 overall record, the second-most wins in by any coach in program history. 

Scott Williams is entering his fifth year with the Cal Poly Women's Soccer staff after three years with the men's program. He came to San Luis Obispo after spending two seasons coaching at Westmont, where he was responsible for mentoring goalkeepers, overseeing back line development, focusing on strength & conditioning regimen and helping with the recruiting process. 

Mario Felix, in his second season with UCSB, previously was as an assistant women's soccer coach at Westmont in 2017 and served as the head men's soccer coach at Bethel College in North Newton, Kan. the prior season. In addition to his time in Kansas, Felix was an assistant coach at Colorado Christian and MidAmerica Nazarene and moved on to become the director of operations for the University of Kansas and the director of operations and assistant coach at the Kansas City Courage of the Women's Soccer Premier League.
