Cal Lutheran Soccer ID Camp and College Clinic

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran women's soccer program is hosting two camps this summer for athletes interested in improving their skills and playing at the collegiate level. Led by the CLU coaching staff, high school and junior college athletes are invited to participate in the College Soccer Clinic or Regals Overnight ID Camp.

The College Soccer Clinic on July 18 is open to all high school or junior college athletes, male and female, with the desire to play at the next level. The one-day clinic includes strength, speed and agility training with CLU Director of Strength and Conditioning, Pat Holmberg; two training sessions with the soccer staff; a campus tour; and classroom sessions on college admission, financial aid and playing at the collegiate level.

The Regals Overnight ID Camp extends the training sessions and classroom discussions across three days, July 30 through August 1, providing athletes with more on-field instruction and the opportunity to experience living on a college campus. Overnight campers will stay in the CLU residence halls and have meals in the Ullman Dining Commons.

Head Coach Frank Marino was named the 2017 SCIAC Coach of the Year after leading the Regals to the regular season conference title and a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. In his nine years of coaching, Marino holds five SCIAC regular season titles and one conference tournament title in route to 136-45-17 overall record, the second-most wins by any coach in program history.

Marino is assisted by Jonathan Decker and Kiki Bailey. Decker is entering his third season under Marino after playing four years as a center midfielder for Cal State University, Monterey Bay. Bailey also enters her third season as varsity goalkeeper coach and junior varsity head coach for Cal Lutheran. She graduated from CLU as one of the most decorated goalkeepers in program history with 22 shutouts and 220 career saves.
