Mendez Named All-SCIAC; First Award in Program History

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Cameron Mendez was named to the 2022 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) women's lacrosse team the conference announced Tuesday morning following a vote conducted by the league's member head coaches. 

Mendez represents California Lutheran University on the Second Team. It is the first All-SCIAC honor in program history.

A goalkeeper for the Regals, Mendez started 10 games and played in 15. She made 170 saves for a percentage of 39.8. She added a team-leading 42 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers. She totaled just over 823 minutes and led the league in saves. Her save percentage was fifth-best in the conference.

2022 was the first full season for the program. Mendez has been with the program since it started in 2020.
