THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Mackenzy Iwahashi, Cameron Mallory and Danielle Morgan each scored double-digits, but Pomona-Pitzer used a 19-8 fourth quarter to down California Lutheran University women's basketball 71-57 on Monday night.
The Regals were down just three points, 58-55 with 3:29 left in the game. The Sagehens ended the game on a 13-2 run as they dropped the Regals to 2-6 overall and 0-3 in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play.
Iwahashi led the Regals with a game-high 19 points, going 8-of-14 from the field. She drilled two three-pointers, including a last-second heave right before half to make it 32-29.
The Regals kept pace with the Sagehens as both teams scored 20 points in the third quarter, and it was a three-point game going to the fourth.
Mallory was the second starter in double-digits. She put up 14 and added six rebounds and three assists. Morgan came off the bench, putting up 10 points, and making two three-pointers.
Grace Godines was all over the boards, pulling down 11 rebounds, with four being offensive. She had the team-high for rebounds and steals as she tallied four thefts.
The Regals look to get back in the win column as the travel to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps for a game on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
