Eagles Edge Out Regals By Three Points

Riverside, Calif. – It was a tight game throughout all four quarters for the Regals. Though they were within three points at the end of every quarter, the Eagles edged out the Purple and Gold with a score of 60-57.

Alyssa Maxey, a sophomore for the Regals, led the Purple and Gold in scoring with 12 points. She was the only Regal to reach double digits. She also collected four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Cameron Mallory had eight points on the night along with four rebounds and one assist. Seven other players put up points for the Purple and Gold.

Patil Yaacoubian added to the mix with seven points, one rebound, two assists, and three steals.

Naomi Gipson and Aliya DiMuro tied for the most rebounds with six a piece.

The Regals were down by three at the end of the first quarter but went point for point in the second. They held their own in the third but weren't able to make up enough ground in the fourth to take the lead.

Overall it was a tough shooting night for the Regals. They put themselves in good positions but weren't able to get the points to fall.

The Purple and Gold will be at home on Saturday to take on Chapman at 4 pm.
