THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The California Lutheran softball team competed in a doubleheader with Western Conn. St. Colonials Monday afternoon at Hutton Field. Game two was a barn burner and went back and forth. The Regals jumped all over the Colonials' pitcher from the beginning. They scored four runs in the first as Pellerin tripled and Marinesi and Workman doubled.

Western Conn. St. answered the call and scored five runs in the top of the third and took a 5-4 lead. Cal Lutheran bounced right back as Marinesi and Abbigael Howard both hit a RBI single in the bottom of the inning. WCS came right back in the top of the fourth and scored three runs and had an 8-6 lead.

The Regals then scored one in the bottom of the fifth. Then Leyva hit a two run bomb in the bottom of the sixth and CLU led 9-8. The Colonials answered in the top of the seventh and we went to extra innings all knotted up at 9.

With new NCAA rules, the Marissa Alfaia started out the inning on second base. Mayhew bunted for a single and CLU had runners on the corners. Mayhew then stole second and Rapisardi was walked. Lexie Findley went in to pinch hit. She was hit by a pitch and Alfaia was the winning run as Cal Lutheran won the game 10-9.
