Kingsmen Finish Eighth at SCIAC Championships

CLAREMONT, Calif.– The California Lutheran University men's cross-country team posted several good times at the SCIAC Championships hosted by Pomona-Pitzer, and finished eighth in the team competition.

"The Kingsmen raced tough and had two course bests today at the SCIAC Championships," said Head Coach Matt Lea. "We are proud of how they battled throughout the race and worked in their groups." 

Nikita Khromets was Cal Lutheran's top performer at the meet, posting a time of 27:06.7 to place 55th overall.

Henry Friederichs, Connor Neufeld-Griffin, Christian Zamudio and Rigoberto Baza joined Khromets in the top-100. Friederichs finished 75th overall and turned in a time of 27:50.1 while Neufeld-Griffin was not far behind in 84th with a time of 28:07.9. Zamaudio had a solid day on the course with his time of 28:51.2 and Baza only a few seconds back at 29:07.0

Luke VanKeersbilck closed his conference campaign by clocking in at 29:33.0 and Jonathan Aguilar crossed the line at 30:06.1.

Rudy Correa came in at 30:52.6, a good day for the senior competing in his final SCIAC competition and Xavier Reynoso posted a time of 31:26.9.

Rounding things out for the Kingsmen was Dillan Barmache clocking in at 36:57.3.

Cal Lutheran returns to action Nov. 16 at 9 a.m. when the Kingsmen head to the NCAA Regionals in Claremont, Calif. on the campus of Pomona-Pitzer.
