Kingsmen Deliver Solid Performance at Bronco Invitational

SUNNYVALE, Calif.– The California Lutheran University men's cross-country team saw several personal records fall Saturday morning at the Bronco Invitational hosted by Santa Clara University as the Kingsmen finished seventh overall.

"The meet was absolutely incredible," said Head Coach Matt Lea. "It was, by far, the best team performance of the year for the team. We executed perfectly and the conditions of the meet were awesome. It was our last meet before SCIAC Championships and we did exactly what we needed to do. I'm excited with where we are at and we are ready for championships." 

Nikita Khromets led the Kingsmen yet again with a time of 26:33.2, good enough for 81stoverall.

Also in the top-100 were Rigoberto Baza in 85th, crossing the line at 26:35.2 while Connor Neufield- Griffin clocked in at 26:49.1 which landed him at 95thoverall.

The duo of Henry Friederichs and Christian Zamudio finished 134thand 135threspectively, the senior finishing at 27:49.1 while the freshman was right behind him with a time of 27:51.4.

Rudy Correra also had a decent showing, coming in at 28:38.8, another personal best for the senior.

Luke VanKeersbilck turned in a good time of 29:02.9 while Jonathan Aguilar was not far behind at 29:27.3

Cal Lutheran returns to action Nov. 2 at 9 a.m. when the Regals compete in the SCIAC Championships in Claremont, Calif. on the campus of Pomona-Pitzer.
